From the heart of Great Britain, to the French plains, passing through the Alps and the rugged Italian terrain to get to the Venetian channels we will live history and culture in every stop.
Arrival to London, transport to the hotel for registration and check-in, and a walk around the hotel area.
After breakfast we will have a quick tour around the city with a local guide. Later in the day, we'll get on the London Eye to get a panoramic view of the city and enjoy. Afterwards we walk through Trafalgar Square heading to take a stroll down the riverwalk of the Thames River towards the Tower of London and its surrounding areas.
After breakfast, and subject to the timing during the season, we will head down to Buckingham Palace to witness the famed changing of the guards. Later we head down to take a stroll down Hyde Park. From there, we will visit the British Museum to end our evening in Oxford Street and a late dinner in Covent Garden.
During the morning we will travel south through the English Channel towards Paris, where we will arrive early in the afternoon to check in and register in the hotel and later take an evening stroll down the Champs Elysées and the Eiffel Tower to admire the spectacle of the area while being lit for the night.
During the day, take a sightseeing tour of the city through the Champs Elysées, Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, Island of the City, among others. Later in the day, we will visit the Louvre Museum, Artists' Bridge to end the day in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés quarter, home of several historical events during the French Revolution, the artists' resurgence in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
We will spend half our day visiting the famouse Palace of Versailles, seat of the political power of France from the beginning of Louis XIV's reign in 1682 until the French Revolution in the late 18th century. The rest of the evening we will visit Sacre Coeur and the Place du Tertre nearby, also known as Artist's Plaza.
After breakfast we will tour the French regions of Champagne and Les Ardennes on our way to the German city of Heidelberg, home to Heidelberg University, Germany's oldest university. In the city we will enjoy some time to walk through the picturesque cityscape and its Baroque style Old Town, to then head towards the hotel for check-in and registration.
After breakfast we will head through alpine landscape towards the Austrian city of Innsbruck, capital city of the Tyrol region in western Austria. We will check-in and register in the hotel for an evening free time to enjoy and walk around the city.
After breakfast we take the highway through Brenner's Pass in the Alps, through what was once the highest bridge in Europe, the Europabrücke. We arrive at the Italian city of Verona, immortalized by William Shakespeare in his famous tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. We carry on south into Venice, where we will lodge in Mestre, the mainland of Venice.
We will have a walking tour of Venice, city of the 118 islands, visiting San Marcos Plaza, the Doge's Palace (Palazzo Ducale) and the Bridge of Sighs. We will then have some free time to traverse the labyrinthian streets and channels, especially the contrasts between the magnificent Palaces and Churches situated along the Grand Canal. In the afternoon, head towards Florence, where we will visit the Plaza of the Republic and the Duomo.
After breakfast, we will take a guided tour of Florence, birthplace of the Renaissance and home to a rich artistic, historic and cultural background. We will enjoy the Cathedral of Santa Maria dei Fiori with its magnificent Campanile and the Baptisterio, decorated with the gates to Paradise, where the likes of Michelangelo or Dante Alighieri went through. We will then continue to Rome.
During the morning, we will take a sightseeing tour with a local guide through the Imperial City. We will visit places such as the Roman Forums, the Colosseum, Constantine's Arch, Venice Plaza and Saint Peter's Plaza in the Vatican city-state. During the afternoon we will visit the famous Vatican Museums and Michelangelo's masterpiece: the Sistine Chapel.
We will walk around the Colosseum and other sights around the Roman City. Make a quick stop in Venice Plaza to visit Trevi Fountain, Navona Plaza and the famous Spanish Steps.
